Our humble beginnings
USThing is an all-in-one student mobile app that has been providing convenient access to a variety of on-campus services tailored to HKUST students since 2015.
In 2024, we formally established a structured organisational framework to enhance our service specialisation and offerings. Our diverse team composes students from various academic and cultural backgrounds with both business and technological expertise. We are grateful for the support from the Department of Business and Management, the Entrepreneurship Centre, and many esteemed senior mentors together to address the evolving needs of the vibrant student community.
Our Vision and Mission
We aspire to create more than just an application. We believe in empowering UST students to make the university experience better for themselves and for everyone else! We aim to bring together the brightest minds from across HKUST, encompassing various disciplines, backgrounds, and interests. The app and the website will just be a few parts of the engine that USThing is. This engine will give our student community a platform to have a voice in shaping their university experience, pursuing their passions, and finding a direction for themselves. After all, only those who are crazy enough to think they can change the world, are the ones who do.
